Service
We strive to give our clients an extraordinary experience during each interaction and provide excellence in our every day delivery. This ensures project milestones are meet and the supplied and installed materials are to the highest of standards, meeting both client expectations and building code compliance regulations.
True experts in practice, our qualified team ensures you’re founded on solid ground with our range of floor finishing techniques.
Concrete Grinding
Concrete is one of the most versatile products ever created and is utilised heavily as both a primary floor surface and as the main substrate for the application of flooring compounds. Failing to prepare this substrate correctly can quickly result in the arising of discrepancies, derailing the project's planned aesthetic.
Sense Constructions carries high quality, highly-effective commercial floor preparation equipment to ensure that flooring surfaces are clean and level. This coupled with our high level of expertise guarantees that the final substrate is free of any contamination and foreign bodies.
Concrete grinding services are designed to provide different levels of finishes to a concrete slab. Whether you’re preparing the slab for epoxy coatings, toppings or polishing
The most popular method employed by us is diamond concrete grinding. This surface preparation technique is highly effective in removing existing floor coatings, dirt, membranes and adhesives. By removing imperfections, the substrate opens, optimising the bonding of any concrete overlays, toppings, epoxy coatings or other floor finishes.
Concrete grinders are also the ideal choice for repairing imperfections in concrete floors, slabs and walkways; gently evening out any imperfections to leave a smooth finish.
All of Sense Construction's diamond grinders are coupled with the latest heavy duty industrial vacuuming equipment to ensure the removal of airborne dust, maintaining optimal workplace health and safety.
Concrete Polishing
Diamond Polish: Diamond polishing is the most refined concrete floor finish. We specialise in using premium concrete densifiers and impregnating sealers to produce a stone like finish.
Grind & Seal: This method involves grinding the concrete slab to the specified aggregate exposure and sealing the slab by applying a clear resin top coat. Desired finishes are available in matt, satin or gloss and can be water or solvent based acrylic, polyurethane or epoxy.
Industrial Epoxy Floors
Designed to be applied over an existing concrete slab, epoxy resin produces a durable floor coating that protects the slab from oil, acid and solvent spills and ensures longevity against high foot traffic and fork lift tracks.
Epoxy floors come with a range of benefits, including;
Epoxy floors are AQIS, TGA, Food Safe, OH&S & HACCP approved for use in commercial kitchens and food preparation areas.
Polyurethane Floors
This type of floor topping is ideal for areas that require a non-slip, heavy duty, durable floor.
With added benefits such as;
This type of floor finish is perfect for food and beverage processing areas, commercial kitchens, cool rooms and freezers. Specifically areas used for food and beverage processing, commercial kitchens, cool rooms and freezers.
Floor Levelling
If an absolutely flat sub floor is required a floor levelling compound may need to be used to ensure the substrate is levelled and any undulations removed. Preparation for floor levelling begins by employing a laser survey of the designated area, marking out all highs and lows. If necessary, we grind to remove all high spots and to remove any oils, glue or other foreign materials that have been previously applied. Once the substrate is clean and free of contaminants, we use primer coatings over the porous concrete to initiate chemical bonding for long term adhesion.
Once primed, we use a cement based self levelling compound to rectify the concrete surface and even the substrate. This enables us to level a floor, build up a floor or match an existing surface so that the substrate can be topped with vinyl, carpet or timber flooring options.
Floor Removal
If you're planning on laying a new flooring finish to an existing area, chances are you'll need the old flooring removed.
Our expert team specialise in removal of floor structures and imperfections, including:
We'll leave the surface free of contaminants so the new surface finish can be applied effortlessly.
With careful workmanship at the forefront of our process, we provide a range of grouting and remediation services.
Core Fill of Door Frames
In 2015, several changes were made to the Australian Building Code Standards in regards to door frame temperature rises for fire ration (AS1905.1-2015). These changes resulted in a need for the frame to be insulated to meet building code specifications.
Our team hold years of experience in installing and backfilling frames using non-shrink mortar, cement and grout. We understand the imperative nature of ensuring the finished, backfilled frame is void of any surrounding airspace, ensuring building code compliance and safety for future occupants.
Grouting
We possess a specialised focus in the supply and installation of grouting across multiple fields including;
More specifically:
Concrete Remediation
The design life and integrity of many assets can be impaired by aggressive environments and service conditions which lead to corrosion and/or deterioration of hardened concrete binding properties.
Our team of specialists assess and repair exposed reinforcing, concrete wear, concrete cracks, leaks and maintenance requirements.
Carbon Fibre for Structural Repair
Carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) is used in situations where concrete structures need to be strengthened with non-intrusive installation. This enables an increase in the load bearing capacity and eliminates the need to replace or demolish existing structures such as columns, slabs, beams and bridge sections.
CRFP is a light weight material with high tensile capacity. It has superior durability and fatigue resistance and can be applied to external surfaces without risk or corrosion.
CFRP is a cost effective method for structural strengthening and can be used in situations where:
Our team of trained specialists are experienced in the application of CFRP and can work closely with structural engineers to ensure the structural strengthening of concrete surfaces.
